UWR Pipes in a dimension up to DN 500/700 mm can be TV-inspected with a self-driving camera. In UWR Connect vertical, the TV inspection must be done with a handheld camera, as self-driving cameras do not have suffi cient light and cannot drive in vertical joints during a TV inspection. It is recommended to use UWR CoverPipe 425 as the minimum size for inspection pipes.
TV inspection must be done with a handheld camera, as self-driving cameras do not have sufficient light and cannot drive in vertical joints during a TV inspection.
The TV inspection and registration should be carried out as described in the “Photo manual – TV inspection of drainage pipes”. A specifi c manual has not been prepared and it is assessed that the same procedure and registration can be used as for pipes.
Well inspection in UWR Connect is done manually based on a visual assessment of the well. This assessment is recorded as described in the “Well manual”. A number of TV inspection companies are affiliated with the control scheme DTVK, Danske TV-inspektionsfirmaers Kontrolordning. The affiliated companies operate based on a set of requirements for the execution and documentation of TV inspections, personnel training, etc. and are subject to an independent control effort.
For TV inspection, it is recommended to inspect the top layer for cracks before finalising the surface coating.
Sand traps in the UWR System are cleaned as needed to prevent soil/sand from washing away and settling in the pipework.
Recording cleaned sand is a good indicator of system performance.
For this reason, one might consider using fewer, but larger sand traps that can be sized to more effectively separate sand from the rainwater.
Fewer, larger and more effi cient sand traps can lead to cheaper maintenance and less strain on basins.
The UWR System can divide all inlets and outlets into multiple sections where sediment can be minimised in each layer
All layers can be separated with UWR Connectring with holes and UWR Connectring closed, in which overflow pipes can be installed.
The UWR System has unlimited sizes for sand traps, which means cleaning can be carried out in intervals of 1-4 years. The minimum sand trap capacity is 300 litres.
Grates, covers, sills and any potential sealing rings are cleaned and repaired/replaced as needed to ensure that water can flow to the pipe system and that the surrounding road surface/soil does not wash into the drainage system.
Access chambers/cleaning wells such as UWR Connect are to be checked periodically to ensure that there is still flow in the pipe system.
UWR System as line drainage systems are to be checked periodically to ensure there is still flow in the system.
If the inspection through the manholes shows a lack of flow, the line is cleaned by flushing with max 130 bar with a Granat type flushing head. Allow 30-40 metres of flushing distance, potentially followed by a TV inspection to determine what is causing the lack of flow.
Overflow structures and other structures may also be clogged and should be checked and cleaned before starting a TV inspection.
By dividing the UWR System into sections, fl ushing can be minimised. In addition, a well bottom can be inserted in the inlet channels where the sediments can more easily drain into the UWR Connect cleaning unit.
The need for cleaning can be optimally designed to minimize maintenance costs for flushing. Intervals can range from 1-4 years.
