The UWR System – Highlights

  • The system is designed to store rainwater, primarily in cities and areas close to cities.
  • It is a square pipe system designed as building blocks that connect and stack in height, width and length.
  • No use of membranes, geotextiles or foils.
  • The UWR System can be installed under the road surface with a road structure including the pavement and a base layer of only 40 cm.
  • The UWR System is designed for traffi c loads of up to class DK T3 roadways.
  • The system is waterproof and has a modular basin to a height of 1,845 m (2,46 contact UWR) with a 40 cm covering and a soil load of at least 380 kg which, with a few additions, can retain water and/or allow water to seep into the ground.
  • The UWR System is constructed without traditional sewer pipes and road drains can be part of the system.
  • The UWR System can be supplied with various substrates for the purification of rainwater as well as growing soil for trees and plant beds.
  • A +75-year lifespan is considered equivalent to sewer pipes.

Verification

The UWR System is manufactured in Denmark, patented, and verified. Its intelligent and flexible pipe system is installed as modular components, signifiantly reducing installation time, lowering the CO2 footprint, and decreasing overall project costs.

The product

  • UWR Connect serves as a distribution module that manages the flow of water between the various UWR Pipe modules. UWR Connect is also utilized in designs that include UWR accessories, such as water brakes and GWS.
  • The UWR Pipe module is designed as a rectangular, stackable tube that facilitates the storage of water. A significant portion of the total volume in the UWR System is stored within the UWR Pipe modules.
  • “UWR Cover Studs – CoverPipe 315” and “UWR CoverPipe 425” can access the system as inlet pipes and construction pipes. CoverPipe 425 is the minimum size for inspection. “CoverPipe” is installed like a regular “UWR Cover”.
  • The “UWR ConnectRing Closed” is an inner cover that can divide the modules into sections where sediments can be separated or substrates added between the modules.
  • “UWR Cover w/holes” can be inserted if seepage from a closed basin is desired. The cover with holes is used for planted trees, rain gardens or as a partial watering solution. In case of seepage to the raw soil, crushed rock or stones with a grain size of minimum 5/8 mm can be added in a given calculated amount. In case of seepage into the raw soil, add crushed rock or stones with a minimum grain size of 5/8 mm in a given calculated quantity.
  • The “UWR Cover” has moulded, prefabricated rings for cutouts in sizes DN 110 mm, DN 160 mm and DN 250 mm. By inserting the Trelleborg lip seal, regular pipes can then be connected. Cutting is done with a jigsaw.
